What my school is like in Germany

Today I will tell you about my life at a German school because I’d like to share how different schools are in many countrys.

When I get up in the morning I  get ready for school  at 6am. I have to leave at 7:20am if I take the bus and 7:45am when I go by the car with my mum or dad. Since we have different topics every day at school I either go upstairs to my classroom or wait in the assembly if I have biology or physics. The first period lasts 90 minutes but we often get 5 to 10 minute breaks. We have three periods in total which all last 90 minutes. That’s why our first break is almost half an hour. When we have math the teachers usually split the class. One half are the people who  are able to learn better and understand the subjects faster. The other half are people who have to learn a little less than the others so they’ll understand it or just don’t  want the stress of learning so much. We also have classes that we can usually choose. Something like languages, music or art. If we have PE we have to wait in the assembly for the teacher. Sometimes we have PE class outside and sometimes inside in the big hall. Every Friday we work on projects that will help the nature. We have a goal that we have to achieve by getting into a group of at most five people. In that group you can find solutions to your topic that you chose. The topic of my project is about all the plastic that lands on earth and isn’t taken care of. My goal is to make people understand that they shouldn’t throw everything in the environment because it’s destroying the planet. Every few months you have to present your project to the whole school. The school starts at 8:15am and ends at 1:35pm but if you want you can choose electives like football, basketball, tennis and tabletennis, swimming or school magazine. All these electives are after school and last till 3:45pm. But you don’t have to choose one.

I think that my school is pretty good and has a good structure. What I like is that school doesn’t last too long, as for example in America it sometimes lasts till 2:30pm in total. If you want you can comment on my blog and tell me what your school is like.
